Removing the environmental assessment on this project is disgraceful. The people who live in this area are already against this dump being located on the edge of town as well near an environmentally sensitive watershed. To not give this project the environmental consideration it deserves, due to a tariff “threat” is extremely short sighted. This certainly makes it appear that there must a conflict of interest somewhere in the Ontario government to push this project through like this. Any further green or climate agenda pushed by the government will never be taken seriously again by the citizens of this province if the environmental assessment is removed.
