I strongly oppose the rollback of protections under the Endangered Species Act to facilitate housing development. While I understand the need for more affordable housing, dismantling critical environmental safeguards is not the solution. This decision prioritizes short-term economic gain over the long-term health of our ecosystems and the survival of vulnerable species.
The Endangered Species Act has been instrumental in preventing extinction and protecting biodiversity. Weakening it undermines decades of conservation work and sends a troubling message about our values as a society. I urge decision-makers to seek balanced approaches that address housing needs without sacrificing environmental integrity or the future of our planet’s most at-risk wildlife.
