I support this motion but do not agree to the proposal of amending the law to allow the meat to spoil. If we are going to responsibly manage Ontario's wildlife then those who decide to hunt the animal should have the responsibility to ensure that animal does not go to waste. . Amending the law to allow for spoilage takes much of the ability to properly manage the species away from the authorities and opens the door for a open cull rather than a resource management plan as advertised. There are migratory birds that are not very desirable (merganser) but if killed can be made into a delicious meal with the proper time and preparation this animal should be treated in the same way.
