I oppose amendments that allow exemptions to archaeological and heritage protections. These safeguards preserve Indigenous culture, Ontario's shared history, and our collective identity. Reducing them under the banner of “provincial priorities” creates a slippery slope. Our economic plans must include respect for the land, history, and truth and reconciliation. No development should be allowed to erase our past.
Ontario’s natural heritage, biodiversity, and environmental integrity are not obstacles to growth—they are foundations of a healthy, sustainable future. I urge the government to reject all proposals that weaken environmental protection, and instead strengthen our commitment to ecological stewardship, transparency, and public engagement.
