The scientific community has spent years defining which category to place and animal species that is struggling. These categories already exist! If a species has been deemed to need protection that is because it is dying out!

“Under the proposed new SCA, activities that are harmful to species cannot proceed unless the person carrying out the activity has registered the activity, or in limited situations, obtained a permit. Under the proposed new approach, instead of waiting for the ministry to approve permits, most proponents will be able to begin an activity immediately after registering.”

So if a developer wants to drain a swamp that contains endangered species, once they have registered and go ahead and drain the swamp it's too late! This is not protection!!

Please take the word "sustainable" out of this sentence. This Bill 5 does not provide any sustainability for any at-risk habitat!
