I don’t believe this proposal should be put through. Protecting species should be most important, not plowing down the environment to allow developers to reap the land of it’s benefits for material gain. We do not need more housing and economic growth for real estate investors and developers, we need meaningful, accessible, and quality affordable housing. We need rent control on units, which the Ford government bulldozed, like they plan to do to our greenbelt. We need empty units filled. These do not exist in a vacuum. The idea of displacing species at a faster rate because developers just can’t wait for permits is capital greed at work. Leave our land alone.
