I strongly opposes this legislation as it disregards the true issues that construction face. The main issue is the lack of expertise and constantly changing rules slowing down construction. This further change to rules will only serve to delay construction as everyone will have to further update their processes. Instead, the government should be investing in the public sector by increasing the capacity of cities to review and approve projects. Additionally, the government should be promoting the fields of botany as field naturalism as these fields provide experts who can help industry navigate the complexities of our environment to build the homes we need while still respecting and protecting our environment. This legislation does not serve to attain the goals that are actually desired and for that reason I think it should not go forward.
