As a resident of Chatham Kent I am opposed to the removal of the environmental assessment for the decommissioned Dresden landfill. Landfill sites due to their controversial nature and smell, noise and traffic issues need to be studied. While I am not opposed to the removal of red tape a landfill is not the type of infrastructure that should be exempt. Landfills are not environmentally positive where leachate and waste gas are produced that could cause negative consequences for the environment. And what happened to Douggie saying if CK does not want a landfill, it won’t happen. What happened to his word? Is he a liar?
