I strongly denounce the proposal to amend and later repeal the Endangered Species Act as well as the proposed bill. This is a pathway for Ontario to become a hotbed for unregulated mining and extraction, reversing decades of critical conservation work that our own species and all others in this province depend on, as we are all intricately connected in this irreplaceable ecosystem.
The driving cause of decline for all species in North America is habitat loss, and this proposal seeks to legalize wide-scale habitat destruction for immediate gains at the expense of our collective future.
