I strongly oppose the proposed changes to protection for endangered species in Ontario. Habitat cannot be preserved piecemeal: simply preserving a nest site but not the rest of the habitat will not allow the species to survive. And the protection is meaningless if you are allowed to kill or destroy the birds or habitat simply by registering that you will do so.
The state of birds worldwide is critical and Ontario has a key role to play. We all need to do everything we can to help these species and this legislation will lead to countless numbers of them dying.
