This proposed bill is a scapegoat for developers and should not pass. It pushes responsibility for saving endangered species and other wildlife to “other efforts” to expedite construction and development (which is honestly just the bystander effect, assuming someone else is going to put in the work to convince yourself that you don’t need to). Leave the animals along in their natural habitats! Once these species are extinct, we don’t get them back. Due diligence SHOULD happen when considering land for development. Any changes to the Species Conservation act should be about increasing conservation efforts, not decreasing them.
