The current ESA is functioning very well to protect species and especially habitat. It is short sighted to believe that only the 'animal' and its immediate vicinity of a nest den is adequate protection. the critical elements that are used for life cycle [birth, forage, denning, staging, migration, hide areas, rearing, etc] are as critical or more so than merely a nest site. It is also unconsciousable to believe that humans once they have a registry number to follow the rules or even understand what they are to protect. It is too late after the fact to hear 'sorry' and pay a minimal fine. Future generations will pay the price of this change.
This Act change is very similar to the Ford rant that the justice system is only a 'bleeding green heart' roadblock to progress. I contend that the system is meant to be a check and balance to unbridled political ideology by people who have a slanted view of the future.
