There is an over abundance of these birds flocks in the tens of thousands on Lake Ontario. They made the sky look there was a fire in early November about a km off the Grimsby shore. In the summer off Toronto Islands massive flocks. I fish extensively from Niagara to Whibty throughout spring to the fall and these birds are spotted every trip and in huge numbers. If everyone took their limit a day it still wouldn't dent these massive flocks.
