Ontario’s own planning and environmental standards have historically required that landfill and large waste processing facilities be set back a reasonable distance from residential communities. It’s unclear why this proposal is being pushed through so close to Dresden without a full Environmental Assessment. This raises serious questions about equity and fairness for rural communities.
