This is an incredibly harmful, short-sighted and misinformed bill. Doug Ford needs to recognize that destroying sensitive environmental systems for the sake of more suburbs and commercial development in siloed areas to make a quick buck is not economic development. The data is unequivocal globally as to what sorts of projects can truly make a thriving community and stable economy, and mowing down endangered habitats in the name of developments that are guaranteed to worsen the problems of traffic congestion, urban sprawl, social isolation, and environmental collapse of various kinds is not the way. I know Doug Ford isn't going to change his mind, but I hope there are still some conservative MPPs out there willing to consider a better path forward and vote this bill down.
