Dresden Ontario is a peaceful and safe community home to proud, hard working people.
Absolutely nobody in Dresden, nor the surrounding area in Chatham Kent and Lambton County was expecting such horrible and upsetting news of York1’s plans to ruin our lives by opening a landfill in our backwards. LESS THAN A KILOMETRE FROM OUR TOWN.

Serious environmental studies need to be performed in the area for many reasons. There is a stream (Mollys Creek) that backs the property of the proposed site which then feeds into the Sydenham River, to then Lake St. Clair.
Several species of wildlife will be impacted by this sickening decision of opening a landfill in our little town.
Serious attention needs to be given to an Environmental Assessment as the hazardous waste brought in to this proposed facility will impact the lives for all residents in Dresden, for generations to come.
WHOEVER IS READING THIS: IT IS A NO-BRAINER PEOPLE - LIKE SERIOUSLY!?? A stream backs up to the property of a proposed landfill feeds into a river less than 800 metres away and you’re proposing to not even assess what environmental impacts can occur? Is the person who thought of this idea completely retarted?

Dresden is known for our rural heritage and is home to a large tomato processing facility along with other businesses that play a key role in our community. We do not need to be relabeled as a home to a dumping site thanks to York1.
If some of the international business located in Dresden close due to the conflict of this dump, thousands of jobs will be lost and ruin the livelihood of many in our community.

I’d personally like to know what Doug Ford, Brian Brunetti of York1, along with the Guizetti brothers Andrew and Daniel would think if they had a landfill and waste disposal site open up in their backyards. I would love to meet these pathetic human beings and introduce them to thousands of Ontarians who’d never let them return home again if this facility opens up, let alone without having to even complete an Environmental Assessment.
This should never be able to happen nor should it be passed on without proper approval due to poor excuses like tariffs.

Lives of innocent people are at risk because of political corruption and greed.
