I am a young person in Ontario. I am an environmental biochemist by training and am currently working towards my PhD. The loosening of environmental protection laws in Ontario would have irreparable consequences in the long term.
I strongly oppose bill 5 and think there should be stricter environmental protection laws for industry, not less.
As the world progresses, natural resources become fewer and fewer. It is the government's duty to protect the resources we currently have, not give them away to the highest bidder. We already have lost species and native plants in Ontario, this bill would fast track the disappearance of these species.

I am deeply disappointed in this government's care for the environment and lower income people. Please do not remove the already flimsy environmental protections laws currently in place for a couple more dollar bills.
