Given the possible ramifications of environmental damage and the nature of the bill, I worry that this bill could do more harm than good to both economic and environmental cornerstones, as well as democratic principles as well. Who gets to decide what is classified as crucial and how is it decided? If it is all government-determined, then what’s the protection for existing jobs, wildlife, and businesses in these special zones?
It seems damaging to the environment on all fronts and even if it could be necessary, it lacks clarity and any check on abuse potential, so I oppose bill 5 on all fronts.
