I am opposed to the proposal to establish a hunting season for double-crested cormorants in Ontario. They are a native species, and have not been proven to harm fish stocks. They are a colony species and would be at risk for over-hunting, especially as described in the proposal. This is not a respectful way to treat Ontario wildlife. While I understand there are many people in our society who get great joy out of killing flocks of birds, the people I know and associate with in Ontario find it abhorrent and against current laws (and for good reason). Sincerely, (my name), in Ottawa.
