So, here we go again, another flipflop. Doug Ford said during the campaign that he would look out for the people and if the people don't want something, they don't have to take it. WE are the people and we don't want this landfill. My property values will plummet. My grandchildren will need to stay inside on sunny summer days. There are currently 3 new subdivisions planned but I suspect they will be stalled. Who wants to come here now? Why is this legal? The property is not an existing landfill. My understanding is a new landfill must be at least 3.5 kilometers away. Premier Ford is blaming Trump's tariffs. I don't see the connection. Please retract this proposal. It will ruin the town, reduce current and future tax base and having current residents move away at reduced selling prices for their homes. The Ministry says this move will save York $2 million and save 4 years in implementation time by removing the EA . So who cares? That is what it was designed to do, that is to help local residents, not give everything to York. So just STOP this thing, it is simply Bad.
