Allowing development on habitats with endangered species sacrifices irreplaceable life for short-term profit. Endangered species are part of ecosystems we all depend on, and damages to them will come around to impact all of us as well. It makes more sense to develop less land but in a more space-efficient manner.

A policy which undermines decades of environmental legislation and global conservation efforts is against Canadian values. It signals a dangerous willingness to prioritize industry over stewardship, and profit over responsibility. What kind of legacy are we leaving if profit margins come at the cost of irreplaceable life and irreversible extinction?
