This proposal should be quashed immediately.
The Ontario government has no expertise on how to classify species and should not have the power to determine this. This should be done solely by external independent sources qualified to do so as what is currently in place.
Furthermore, being able to start a project immediately after registration as proposed will cause irreversible harm to the habitats in question before any research can be done. This is not "unnecessary delays" as touted in the proposal. This is extremely important for due process.
People value biodiversity. Endangered species that become extirpated will be the cause of the effects of this proposal going through.
