I appreciate the government’s effort to modernize Ontario’s species at risk framework and recognize the potential benefits of streamlining approvals for infrastructure and development. Read more

This is a horrific example of industry yet again lining the pockets of law-makers to benefit their own profit while taking protections away from our natural resources and further destroying our environment. The focus continues to be on expanding outwards to accommodate rather than up. Read more

This is short sighted and a very obvious way to bulldoze our communities to the ground. This Bill should absolutely not be passed. I fear that more beloved species that play critical roles in our livelihoods will be decimated and go extinct.

This sounds a lot ridiculous. It SHOULD take time to make sure that we protect endangered species. If a house takes 6 more months to build but maybe we prevent extinction of a species then guess what...its a no brainer. Biodiversity should trump profit every single time. Read more

I am 100% against the Proposed interim changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and the proposal for the Species Conservation Act, 2025. The provincial government should not have the ability to remove species at their discretion. Read more

This proposal will do irreversible damage to our most threatened species. Specific nest or den sites are difficult to find for many species, and these are only present at certain breeding times of the year, and would be unaccounted for for other times of the year when considering habitat. I am strongly opposed to this proposal for the following reasons: The government would have the authority to remove species from the COSSARO list. Changing the definition of 'habitat'. Read more

At a time when so many species are already suffering from habitat loss and fragmentation from the amount of development happening it is very upsetting to see these changes being proposed. Very disappointing and these changes should be rejected. Read more

Processes are in place to protect the future for everyone but especially the youth. You cannot endlessly and recklessly build over everything and everyone. These type of economic directions don't show any true leadership or creativity that we would expect of leadership. Read more

I strongly oppose this proposed legislation, which not only dismantles essential protections for endangered wildlife and ecosystems, but also disregards the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous communities. This bill represents a profound failure of responsible governance. Read more

I do not agree with the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. The processes associated with the Act are "complicated" or, using more balanced language, complex because ecosystems are complex. Read more
