This bill seems to be based on the premise that quicker is better. I don’t believe this is always (or even often) the case.
Especially when it comes to protecting our natural environment.
There is no reason to believe developers will act with any interest in mind other than short term profits at the long term expense of future generations who will live in a more polluted, less protected environment.
I do not believe this bill is desired by the majority of Ontarians, and is only being pushed through now to benefit the few at the expense of the many.
I am also seriously concerned for how this bill will impact Indigenous communities who already suffer from environmental racism. Their voices need to be centered, not pushed aside.
