It is my understanding that the proposed Special Economic Zones Act, 2025, gives exemptions that are too broad, to environmental and labour laws, from any project at government discretion. This would give the government a blank cheque to cut so-called "red tape" prolifically, that is there for a reason - the safety, well being, and best interests of those involved, present and future, at any given site. Regulations exist for good reason. I ask that this act be reconsidered or at minimum have stringent safeguards put in place.
