Written in the summary: "most proponents will be able to begin an activity immediately after registering" is an incredibly scary description. We KNOW that developers are experts in realestate and building, but there is no guarantee they are experts in wildlife biology or environmental impact assessment.
This act does not seem to be in the best interest of Ontarians, we depend on the government to balance the development with the care of the land.
While many developers might develop sustainably or with care, the assumption that they know the correct wildlife/environment questions to ask about a development zone, and that they have the ethics in place to consider their impact, is naive.
