I’m writing as a concerned resident to request that an Environmental Assessment be made mandatory for this project.

The Sydenham River is an important natural feature in our area. It’s used for swimming, fishing, and boating—people rely on it for recreation and connection with nature. Any project that could affect the water quality or surrounding environment should not move forward without a thorough review.

I also have serious concerns about traffic. Adding hundreds of heavy trucks per day to our roads is not realistic. These routes weren’t designed for that kind of volume, and the safety risk to families, especially children who are active in sports and other activities year-round, is unacceptable. What plans are in place to protect them? Who will cover the long-term costs of road maintenance and safety upgrades?

As a taxpayer and a parent, I feel strongly that we deserve clear answers and proper oversight. An Environmental Assessment is a critical step.
