As a lifelong resident of the Great Lakes region of Ontario I can say that it's only in the last 10 years that I have noticed an increase in Cormorants. Not an over abundance though. I am all for responsible game management but I don't think the proposed season length and bag limits are anywhere close to responsible. I think it would make more sense to experiment with hunting seasons on cormorants in specific areas of Ontario where they are causing damage. This proposal shouldn't be implemented province wide.
