Stop Bill 5!!

This bill is a farse using the 'housing crisis' as an excuse. Bills such as these have been brought up in the based with different excuses as to why it needs to be done. This is just another way for Ford to get his construction buddies contracts and work. This is not the first time Ford has tried to 'help' his buddies. He used the term 'cutting red tape' but isn't the red tape part of the checks and balance system of the government? Is it not part of the democrat process? Bill 5 will directly impact environmental studies as well as cultural heritage. These are 2 things that make Ontario what it is. This bill is in direct opposition what Canada has worked hard to protect and be proud of. This bill is not inline with the Federal statement of Truth and Reconciliation with indigenous peoples and is in fact the direct opposite. Bill 5 is meant to 'work around' identifying indigenous sites as archaeology is 'slowing down' the construction process. This slaps the face of all pervious peoples who have lived in this land long before Ford and European ancestors arrived. Indigenous sites (culture) are key to understanding Canadian/ Ontario identity. For years environmentalists, and scholars has toted the importance of the environment and ecosystems, Yet Ford seeing it as more 'red tape', throwing caution o the wind, putting our future generations at risks, just to speed up a commute. Unique species (only found in Ontario) could be lost forever. Once again, taking what make Ontario unique and one of a kind and ruining it. Once destroyed, it will cost tons of tax payer money to fix, if that's even a possibility.
To support Bill5 is a sort sighted approach that will have long lasting implications for future people. Clearly Ford is more interested in the here and now a willing votes than actually caring for the future of Ontario and all its people.
