The whole point of this permitting process is to evaluate impact, and was originally designed/implemented by those with knowledge and experience on how to actively protect critical/endangered/at risk habitats and species.
I strongly disagree with *ANY* changes that don't actively ADD additional protections to endangered species in Ontario. And yes, that includes any side-changes where boundaries, priorities, etc. can offset a move or change. Nature is an *ecosystem* of important species, many of which are endangered due to our own activities, including development, and is a slippery slope when it comes to impacts .... they cascade, and can cause many downstream issues, in potentially unknown ways.
Rather than constantly building out from the GTA (which this is VERY clearly affecting), it'd be better to focus efforts on growth and development in other towns/cities in Ontario.
I did not vote conservative in my riding for this sort of under-handed means to cut back protections and and increase development, and is actively turning me off of supporting this party in the future for being so short sighted...
