This is incredibly concerning! How can an entire environmental assessment be scraped and presented as "a response to tariffs". This is directly related to lobbyists benefiting privately for financial gain. YORK1 getting exempted from IMPORTANT due diligence to protect the people and land of Dresden and surrounding area.

This proposed dump site is too close to town. It has not FUNCTIONED as a dump site as it says on paper, so to grandfather a large scale operation on inaccurate information is negligent. The government needs to do what is right for the people this dump would impact... not private companies, or people hundreds of miles away.

Yes there is a need for waste management, and it is larger than a local issue, but there are reasons these measures like a full scale EA are in place. So we don't lose biodiversity, contaminate soil, waterways, and airways, etc. Molly's creek and the Sydenham river are homes to wildlife, and a waterway many enjoy recreationally. This dump is almost right on top of it! How can this even be a question?

The people of Dresden deserve better. The people of Ontario deserve better. Do the work to prove if this would be a safe option. If its not, then unfortunately, this private company is going to need to look elsewhere... where it wouldn't harm the land and people.
