This is undemocratic and leads to cronyism. It will not speed up development, it will give preferred friends of Doug Ford access to lands that would otherwise have been sensibly protected. This, in conjunction with the essential removal of species protection (typical omnibus bill combining multiple topics), would endanger the vital economic services that nature provides and not give tax payers much back for their vote. Developers will simply continue to build either shoeboxes or multimillion dollar mansions.. nothing in the middle. Provincial and municipal laws are essential: they are not red tape. Would appreciate the Ford government not copying from the Trump playbook.
