I strongly oppose Bill 5. I want stronger protection for our environment and less shortcuts for industries trying to undermine their environmental responsibilities! I strongly oppose overriding the law in special economic zones! Many animals, including federally listed endangered species, would be affected by this, leading to tragic losses in biodiversity and cultural significance. This would further negatively impact communities in the environment, including humans who would largely be affected by the loss of this species in food provisions, maintaining water cycles, and maintaining populations of disease vectors like ticks among many other ecosystem services. Removing habitat protection from legislation makes no sense. Less legislation is absolutely not more effective and eliminates recovery plans, undermines and ignores science-based conservation, and tramples on nature's rights.
