Net-metering should be encouraged and separated from a renewable energy approval. It is the individual who would be making the choice that the electricity is needed, and should not be the decision of government to be deciding whether you want to produce your own power or not.
All systems below 10 kW should be exempt regardless if net-metered or not. No IESO decision should be made if there is a need for this power or not.
The net-metering system should be enhanced to make it easier to obtain, allow for one person to provide power to another person under a net-meter contract, and allow for exemption from the demand charges for peak consumption over 50 kW.
There should be an exemption for power generation where there will be on-site power storage that is equal to at least 3 hours of potential power production.
