The protected and endangered species of Ontario are already suffering from a lack of protection and support from the majority of their human kin. Taking away the few protections they have will surely decimate the few remaining populations of integral species to these lands. Progressive, unyielding growth is not the solution many think it is. It will lead to even more pollution of our largest fresh water sources, our depleting fresh air, and increase the number of invasive species that are taking advantage of the natural habitats of our native species being destroyed. People hate mosquitos, increasing residential areas and decreasing our native plant species will only increase their numbers, ticks, and other 'pest' species that thrive in our urban sprawl. Our focuses should be on improving infrastructure, decreasing the prices of homes and apartments that already exist, and 15-minute cities- not car dependent sub divisions that cannot take advantage of greener options such as walking, cycling, or utilizing public transport to get around. Do not allow greed to make decisions for this province, it only helps a few number of people when these decisions are supposed to be uplifting all citizens. Nature is what supports us, what allows us to live, do not kill it and ourselves.
