I strongly oppose the changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and proposed Species Conservation Act, 2025. This legislation would undermine the science-based process for listing and protecting species at risk, granting the government sweeping powers to bypass protections for species and their habitats. Prioritizing short-term economic gain over long-term ecological integrity is deeply troubling. The intent behind this proposed change is clear - and it’s unacceptable.
