The Ontario Government has consistently shown little to no regard for the environment, climate change, biodiversity or species protection. The Greenbelt was the most recent attack on our Natural Heritage followed by the Holland Marsh and now the Endangered Species Act.
This is not about "unleashing Ontario's Economy". It's about unleashing the Premier's developer friends on Ontario's environmentally sensitive areas by removing restrictions and red tape to allow, not only development that should not be allowed, but making it faster for them to do it.
The few Environmental Protections that are in place are there for good reasons and should not be removed. Make no mistake, this is not about Ontario's Economy. This is about an opportunity for a privileged few to make a great deal of money and make it harder for Environmentalists and the Public to prevent the associated damage by stopping it before it happens.
