No town wants a dump near it but they have to go somewhere, but for sure no town wants a dump forced on them.
A ill conceived idea that doesn't benefit the residents of Dresden, their children or their grand children shouldn't be pushed through by using convenient political developments else where.
As someone who chose to live in Dresden, coming from the U.K I know that rural SW Ontario is the envy of the world for the quality life.
I wouldn't move to a town with a dump. And I wouldn't advise others to either.
It's with a heavy heart that I've started to think do we leave a town I've come to love that my children grew up in. But we've started to consider it.
Dumps lower property values, lower taxation and the services that the taxation provides. If a dump has been pushed through and doesn't meet the standards put in place to protect the people who live near it, and this dump was already closer to town than is allowed by the existing law, who would move there.
Small towns have trouble holding on to there youth. If a dump arrives while we will sad to see our children leave, for school or work. We will be sadder to see them come back to Dresden
