Cormorant culling is a long overdue necessity. They are highly disruptive, voracious fish eaters whose feces destroy habitat for all manner of other animals. They black out the sky en masse in Hamilton Harbour. They destroy parkland in Toronto's Tommy Thompson park. Natural predation is nearly zero. They eat more smallmouth bass and yellow perch in Eastern Lake Ontario than commercial fishing harvests. They are a pest that needs to be controlled.
