I oppose the replacement of the Endangered Species Act with the Species Conservation Act under Schedule 10 of Bill 5. It is apparent that the replacement would end most meaningful protections for endangered species and their habitats in Ontario. At a time of unprecedented global decline in biosystems and biodiversity, Schedule 10 would only contribute to the damage and loss in Ontario and add to the sad provincial history of attacks on our natural systems to enrich a decreasing portion of Ontario residents.
