I strongly oppose this proposal.
As a life long resident of Dresden I am passionate about protecting our community from exposure to a landfill located a short 900 meters from my back yard. Our local high school is a short walk from my neighbourhood and I am very concerned for the students long term health. If no environmental assessment is completed how will we know if these concerns are founded or not? Our residents are scared to death that a landfill located so close to town will be a huge safety concern due to air pollution.
Not just living with the stench of a landfill but the possibility of exposure to air borne toxins is more than this community can bear.
Additionally this site has a creek that runs through the property that feeds into the Sydenham River, only by having a full environment assessment will we know of any dangers that might exist by the development of this landfill.
Please reject this proposal.
