While I support growing Ontario’s economy, I find Bill 5 deeply troubling. Replacing the Endangered Species Act with a weaker Species Conservation Act will strip vital habitat and anti-harassment safeguards, leaving at-risk species more exposed. Decisions on listing and delisting must rest with a science-based advisory committee—not political discretion. We cannot trade biodiversity for speedier approvals: economic growth and a healthy ecosystem go hand in hand. Please reject any changes that erode these essential protections.
