Dear Government of Ontario:
Please do not pass Bill 5 as currently proposed. We need greater protection for Endangered Species (not less), we need more involvement of Indigenous communities (not less), and we definitely do not need the province to over-rule municipal and provincial laws for the creation of "special economic zones".
The first priority if you are sincerely interested in protecting our economy is to protect the environment, and in so doing increase the protection of endangered species and all the good things that nature provides us, and respect and listen to Indigenous voices who speak of how to live as a part of our environment rather than over-running it.
Without a relatively stable climate, all the 'unleashing' you are proposing will be irrelevant, since an unleashed climate system can easily destroy whatever you are intent on creating.
Please see the bigger picture and stop focusing on short-term (ie. within decades or a century) economic gains. By protecting our environment more than ever before you will also be protecting our economy well into the future as well as providing ourselves, and our future generations, with a better life. Bill 5 as proposed does the opposite.
