I am unsure how anybody, especially the provincial government deems it okay to propose having a landfill that close to a town, let alone that close to a watershed area where it has already been proven chemicals are leeching into the river. The former yard and junk that is in this area hasn't even been cleaned up yet, let alone bringing in something like this. It has been stated this will be much larger than that of the landfill near Watford which is not okay, especially with plans of it running 24/7. Give your head a shake. There are far better areas for something of this magnitude to be placed. An environmental assessment MUST be done, it can't rely on past studies done years ago with outdated research methods or the use of technologies available now. Setting the tax payers up for major health issues, and there will be major lawsuits coming over this, I am sure.
