Sacrificing nature and Indigenous rights isn’t the way to address Ontarians’ rising grocery bills, solve the trade war with the US or transition to a safe and renewable future. On the contrary, this is the path to more Trump-style deregulation disguised as progress, trading nature for profit and political gain. Stop being short sighted. Governments shouldn’t be making decisions that benefit their own political careers as they are not in charge over the long term. Think about how your actions will impact future generations. Without a vibrant, healthy biodiverse environment you are directly impacting humans for ever. We are part of this interconnected food chain thus every decision must be carefully looked at through this lens. The extra time this may take is insignificant considering the time the earth has supported its biodiversity including humans and how long we hope it continues to do so.
