There are plenty of areas in Ontario, begging for development, where species at risk are not impacted. We can increase density in areas that are already built-up rather than expanding into sensitive territories. In Toronto every inch of vacant space is developed; why can’t this approach be taken in Ontario’s smaller communities, especially those with long vacant built structures.
We are losing animal species at an alarming rate, and once they become extinct they don’t come back. Humans are part of the ecosystem too, and when we destroy ecosystems we destroy ourselves by degrading where we live.
