As a tax-paying Ontario resident, outdoor enthusiast, and father of two, I strongly oppose the proposed amendments to the Endangered Species Act. The existing legislation is already sufficient and science-based. These changes prioritize short-term economic gain over long-term environmental protection and weaken essential safeguards for species and habitats.
They grant too much discretionary power to government, eliminate mandatory recovery plans, and open the door to unchecked development. Ontario’s natural heritage must not be sacrificed for convenience or private interest. I urge you to abandon this proposal.
