Bill 5 is an unjustified, unwise and dangerous assault on nature, endangered species in Ontario. The suggested vague replacement measures are a brazen invitation to corruption, recently demonstrated in the infamous Greenbelt land approvals where unqualified political staff and ministers will decide on land use approvals. This is a great step backwards that will haunt the Conservative Party for decades if they proceed. Bill 5 will result in endless legal delays due to its obvious violation of indigenous treaty rights. Bill 5 should be abandoned as a threat to principled and sound planning in Ontario.
