Bill 5 undermines Indigenous governance, sovereignty and principles of reconciliation. The fact that this bill is even being proposed actively affirms what we all know; the Ford government is perpetuating colonialism by using settler legal principles to wield unchecked power. This policy will kill wildlife and enable the Ford government to bypass the scarce environmental protections that we have. These actions come at the expense of the people, nature and voters of Ontario. I strongly oppose and condemn Bill 5.
