Bill 5 is not progress. It’s a betrayal of everything Ontarians value - our land, our wildlife, and our democratic voice. It puts endangered species in harm’s way so a handful of developers can profit. This is not leadership. It’s looting.
I love this province because of its forests, its rivers, and its rich biodiversity. These are not luxuries - they are the lifeblood of our communities and ecosystems. Replacing the Endangered Species Act with a weaker alternative shows that this government is more interested in cutting corners than protecting what makes Ontario unique.
Development can be sustainable. Housing can be built without destroying ecosystems. We need thoughtful, community-focused planning- not blank cheques for corporate interests.
Bill 5 must be withdrawn. We cannot sacrifice nature for greed.
